Stockport Trafford Alliance Framework Extension

In 2009 Stockport and Trafford Council launched the "Stockport Trafford Alliance Framework," to maintain and improve roads and highway structures within the two boroughs. The Alliance has provided good value for money and efficiencies of service and the Contract was extended by 3-years in April 2014. Since then the Council has been successful in obtaining £32m Growth Deal funding from the Department for Transport for Phase 1 of the Town Centre Access Plan (TCAP). The Council has also commenced the Highway Improvement Programme and other large Developments; Redrock, Stockport Exchange, and Stockport Interchange some of which will run past the current 2017 extension limits and which were not scheduled at the time of the previous extension. Based on delivery of the increased works a further 2-year extension up to the full 5-years allowed for in the Alliance Contract is now required;
