Issue details

Adoption of Revised Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

A new update to the SCI is now required so as to reflect changes to the Council’s planning service structure and in-house processes, to national legislation/regulations governing both plan-making and development management processes and to some specific stakeholder agencies. Critically it is also required so as to reflect the specific community involvement arrangements being put in place to inform preparation of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF); the first stage of formal consultation on the GMSF is scheduled to begin in November 2015 and so it follows that the updated SCI must be adopted by the Council by the end of October 2015 at the latest (a similar update must also be adopted by each of the other 9 GM districts). The revised SCI has undergone six weeks of public consultation and the Council are being recommended to adopt the revised SCI.
