THE SECOND ANNUAL FLOOD RESILIENCE AND HIGHWAY DRAINAGE ASSET MANAGEMENT UPDATE REPORT

The work in this area supports the council’s overall approach to climate change via Stockport CAN strategy. This report is the second annual report providing an update on activities since April 2021.

Consultation process

A consultation took place with the local residents and parents to advise on the project and its benefits.

Equality and/or Environmental Impact Assessment: The environmental impact of flooding improvements is addressed in the planning of projects, but projects should also aim to improve water quality, and biodiversity as well as reducing the negative impact of flooding on the population. The Local Flood Risk Management Strategy has been subject to equalities considerations and the specific schemes will consider equalities impacts as they are brought forward. The aim is to reduce the negative impact of flooding on all residents and visitors and that this be done to reflect their specific needs
