We did a lot of preparation and hard work to get our Stockport Taxi/PH licence. But some people easily got taxi license from other councils and came here and almost destroyed our work. Local taxi drivers have lost their value due to the influx of non-local council drivers, so operators no longer even respect local drivers. Taxi firms continue to hire non-council license holders, regardless of the fact that there is not enough work for that many drivers. Taxi firm owners are only tempted to make more money in the form of radio money. The more drivers come, the more weekly money the firm owners will get.
