Following consultation with the Mayor, the Chief Executive has taken urgent action under the constitution to appoint Bob Hodgson as a member of the Exclusion Review Panel.

The decision was taken as urgent action in advance of the next Council Meeting in order that an exclusion review panel can be constituted to determine a request from a parent for a review of the decision to exclude a pupil from a school in Stockport.

The Executive Director for Corporate & Support Services, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Finance & Resources, has given approval to the entering into of a contract with AVC Wise (rebranded in 2024 as My Money Matters) for the provision of Shared Cost Pension services to permit employees that are members of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) to make voluntary pension contributions including the provision of a fully managed solution to help empower employees with financial education, tools and services to enact a change on their financial wellbeing.

Decision:

The Cabinet Members for Communities, Culture & Sport and Parks, Highways & Transport Services considered a request to increase the current Hackney Carriage Tariff and then:

(1) Gave approval for implementation of the proposals at Appendix A, subject to statutory consultation under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.

(2) Authorised officers to advertise the proposal in accordance with legislation following the associated call-in period and dependent on any further comments or modifications.

(3) Agreed that any comments would be considered by officers and brought back to the next meeting of the Cabinet Member, only where they have not already been considered as part of this report.

(4) Authorised officers to implement the increase without further consultation with the Cabinet Member where there are no comments in response to the legal notice.

(5) Authorised officers to prepare for the meter changes in consultation with approved garages and the trade association, including communication to the trade regarding the arrangements.

(6) Agreed that officers implement a revised format of the tariff card as part of the fare review, so that any ambiguity around charges be resolved.
