The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Rotary Club of Bramhall and Woodford for a grant of £750 from the Ward Flexibility Funding Budget (£250 from Bramhall North, £250 from Bramhall South & Woodford and £250 from Cheadle Hulme South ward allocations) towards the cost of hosting the annual Duck Race and Family Fun Day held in Bramhall Park.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Bramhall in Bloom for a grant of £1000 from the Ward Flexibility Funding Budget (£250 from Bramhall North and £750 from Bramhall South & Woodford ward allocations) towards the cost of replanting large and small planters in preparation for a Summer and Winter show later this year.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Marple Runners to hold their 8th Annual Carnival 10K Trail Race and a 2K Family Fun Run on Sunday 22 June 2025. The event will start with the trail race starting at 10.00am and finishing at 11.30am, and the Family Fun Run starting 9.30am. They will be accessing the site between 7.00am and 1.00pm, subject to the event organiser obtaining and providing the relevant paperwork at least 2 weeks prior to the event, including any necessary licences, health and safety documentation, insurance certificates, a satisfactory traffic management plan and the payment of agreed fees and charges.

The Area Committee has given approval for the Network Management’s recommendation that no further action be taken on roads around the district centre, and to progress a Residential Parking Scheme at a cost of £1,500 (Edgeley Ward Delegated Budget) on Hardman Street, Edgeley only.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from the ‘4 Seasons Events Group’ to hold a family inflatable, small rides and games event which comprises attractions for children up to the age of 12. Organisers will access the site on 30 April 2025, provide their event on Saturday to Monday 3 – 5 May 2025 from 11.30am - 5.30pm and vacate the park on the evening of 6 May 2025 subject to the event organiser obtaining and providing the relevant paperwork at least 2 weeks prior to the event, including any necessary licences, health and safety documentation, insurance certificates, a satisfactory traffic management plan and the payment of agreed fees and charges.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Be / Here MCR CIC for a total grant of £142 from the Ward Flexibility Funding Budget (£71 from Bramhall North and £71 from Cheadle Hulme South ward allocations) towards the cost of equipment and promotion for mental health workshops for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Compstall Cricket Club for a reduced grant of £550 from the Ward Flexibility Funding Budget (£350 from Marple North and £200 from Marple South & High Lane ward allocations) towards the cost of foldable tables and stackable chairs to maximise the use of space and make it easier for volunteers to organise events.

The Area Committee has given approval to the supply and installation of x4 no. Pencil Bollards at the shared use crossing point on Knowsley Road and Marplecroft at a cost of £2,500 to be funded from the Manor delegated ward budget.

The Area Committee in consultation with the Neighbourhood Team and the GMPs Licensing Officer has given approval to an application from ‘Sounds of the Summer’ to run four concerts over the summer months in Viaduct Park on Saturday evenings from 4.00pm to 7.00pm on the following dates and that no alcohol should be sold:

subject to all appropriate paperwork, licenses and fees being submitted to the Council at least one week prior to the events taking place.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from The Museums Services Team at Bramall Hall to hold their annual outdoor live theatre events on the croquet lawn to the side of the hall between 4..0pm and 9.00pm on Sunday 13 July and Sunday 20 July 2025, subject to the event organiser obtaining and providing the relevant paperwork at least 2 weeks prior to the event, including any necessary licences, health and safety documentation, insurance certificates, a satisfactory traffic management plan and the payment of agreed fees and charges.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Woodsmoor Station Friends for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £95 towards the cost of a set of pads and battery for the defibrillator located at Woodsmoor Post Office.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application for funding received from Friends of Abney Hall Park Group for a grant of £255 from the Stockport CAN Seed Fund (Cheadle West and Gately ward allocation) towards the costs for four more half days of pruning delivered by Manchester Fruit Tree Coop.

The Area Committee has given approval to application for Ward Flexibility Funding received from Pixies Cheer for a grant of £107.13 (£71.42 from Cheadle East & Cheadle Hulme North and £35.71 from Heald Green ward allocations) towards the cost of the team competing in the All Star World Championships and Worlds competitive cheerleading competition.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Play for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £497.35 towards the cost of equipment required to host chess clubs aimed at home schooled children at two Stockport libraries.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Be / Here MCR CIC for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £71 towards the cost of equipment and promotion for mental health workshops for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Compstall Cricket Clubs for Ward Flexibility Funding for a total grant of £135.97 towards the cost of foldable tables and stackable chairs to maximise the use of space and make it easier for volunteers to organise events.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Romiley Traders Association for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £1,000 towards the cost of gazebos and weights to be used at food or music events from March until December as shelter for the attending public.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from the Stockport County Ladies Junior Football Club for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £886 towards the cost of equipment to enhance the training sessions for all the children in the Stockport County Ladies Junior Football Club's U8 and U9 teams.

The Area Committee has given approval to the legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) set out in Appendix A and subject to no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date, the order can be made.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Friends of Tangshutt for a grant of £850 from the Stockport CAN Seed Fund and Ward Flexibility Fund (£195 from the Bredbury Green and Romiley ward CAN Seed Fund allocation, £586 from the Bredbury and Woodley ward CAN Seed Fund allocation and £69 from the Ward Flexibility Fund) towards the cost of the May Day on the Meadow event, including a wide range of free activities for the community to enjoy, such as helping people learn wildlife survey skills and other ways to improve their wellbeing outdoors.

The Area Committee has given approval to the proposed scheme and the legal advertising of the associated Traffic Regulation Orders as shown on Drawing 5224/ 06/ F/ TRO and contained in Appendix B, and subject to no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date the orders can be made.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from the Friends of Cheshire Theatre School for a grant of £900 (£270 from Heatons North, £360 from Heatons South and £270 from Reddish North ward allocations) towards the cost of registration fees for competitors from Heatons and Reddish Wards who have been selected to represent Team England in the Dance World Cup.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Be/Here MCR CIC for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £71 towards the cost of equipment and promotion for mental health workshops for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from the Friends of Tangshutt Fields to hold their annual May Day on the Meadow event on Bank Holiday Monday, 5 May 2025.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Heald Green Events Committee to hold a VE Day Celebration on Bank Holiday Monday, 5 May 2025 at Outwood Playing Fields between midday and 7 pm, with access required before and after the event to set up and take down, subject to all appropriate paperwork and licences being obtained and submitted to the Council at least one week prior to the event taking place.

The Area Committee has given approval to the legal advertising of the original proposals for the Traffic Regulation Orders and subject to no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date, that the orders be made.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from the Gatley Festival Committee to hold the Gately Festival on Sunday, 6 July 2025 at William Scholes – Gately Hill between 11 am and 6 pm, subject to all appropriate paperwork and licences being obtained and submitted to the Council at least one week prior to the event taking place.

The Cabinet Member for Finance & Resources has given approval to the write off of 6 outstanding debts covering Business Rates, Council Tax & a Housing Benefit overpayment with a total value of £96,894.80, which are considered to be irrecoverable.

 
Every possible method of recovery has been attempted to recover these debts. However, for the reasons stated in the report, there is no further recovery action that can be taken to recover the money owed.

If circumstances change and it becomes possible to recover the debt, recovery can be reinstated even if the debt has been written off.

It is recommended that these debts are now written off as all attempts to recover the monies owed have been exhausted.

At its meeting on 6 December 2022, the Cabinet considered a report detailing a proposal to enter into an agreement with the sustainable infrastructure company Iduna to help improve EVCI provision across the borough.  As part of the decision, approval was given to delegate of final terms for the lease agreements to the Director of Place Management in consultation with Cabinet Member for CAN.

The Director of Place Management, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Climate Change & Environment, has now given approval to the final terms for the lease for the EV charging site at the Banks Lane Car Park in Offerton providing authority to enter into the lease as detailed in this report; and for the Assistant Director for Governance to take any action and do all things necessary, incidental or expedient to the implementation of the above resolution.

The Cabinet Member for Parks, Highways & Transport Services has considered a number of objections received to the introduction of a proposed ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ Traffic Regulation Order on Clement Road, Marple Bridge and has agreed that in the light of the objection, the order should be amended to reduce the extent of the proposals as detailed on the schedule below:-
