The Stepping Hill Area Committee previously considered a proposal for the installation of measures to protect the entrance from Buxton Road to Torkington Park, Hazel Grove at its meeting on 26 June 2021.
The Area Committee requested that the proposals be given further consideration with specific regard to the proposed method of entrance protection and delegated authority to the Corporate Director (Place) to determine the appropriate solution to be implemented at this location subject to further discussions in relation to the proposed solution and the associated costings.
Following consultation with the ward spokespersons, the Corporate Director (Place) has now given approval to the placement of a pedestrian guardrail at the Buxton Road entrance to Torkington Park at a cost of £3,879.97 to be funded form the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Hazel Grove ward allocation).
The Area Committee has considered a proposal for the placement of bollards at an entrance to Torkington Park on Buxton Road and has agreed to delegate the decision to the Corporate Director (Place) in consultation with the ward highway spokespersons pending further discussions in relation to the detail of the proposed solution and the associated costings.
