The Waste Management Levy Allocation Methodology Agreement (LAMA)
is the agreed method by which the costs attached to the Operating
contract (primarily the acceptance, processing and disposal of
residual waste, recyclables, pulpables,
and green waste) are distributed between the constituent
Districts.
A decision to enter into the LAMA was agreed at the Council Meeting
on 30 November 2017 and authority to agree minor amendments and
enter into the agreement was delegated to the Corporate Director
for Place Management and Regeneration, the Borough Treasurer and
Head of Legal Services in consultation with the Leader of the
Council and the Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing (now
Sustainable Stockport).
The Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration, the Borough Treasurer and Head of Legal Services, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport have now given approval to the draft of the agreement appended to the report (including the amendments detailed in Section 2.2 of the report) and have accepted this as the new agreement between Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the constituent Districts.
