The Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing has considered proposals for the conversion of the existing Signalised Pedestrian Puffin Crossing to a Toucan Crossing and introduce shared-use path on Church Road, Cheadle Hulme as part of the Cycle City Ambition Grant package of work, set out on drawing D/0261/0100/01 Rev B, and approved the legal advertising of the following Moving/ Traffic Regulation Orders and subject to no objections being received within 21 days of the advertisement date, the Orders being made:
Moving Traffic Regulation Order (MTRO)
The following areas of footway are to be converted into a cycle track under Section 65(1) of the Highways Act 1980 so to provide a shared use cycle/pedestrian facility:
· Church Road, Cheadle Hulme, north side, from its junction with Granby Road to its junction with Hill Top Avenue.
· Church Road, Cheadle Hulme, south side, from its junction with Woods Lane to its junction with Woodfield Road.
· Granby Road, east side, from its junction with Church Road for a distance of 11 metres in a northerly direction.
Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) – Revocation of Limited Waiting Monday – Saturday 9.30am – 4pm for 20 minutes, No return within 1 Hour
· Church Road, Cheadle Hulme, north side, from a point 52 metres west of the westerly kerb line of Hill Top Avenue for a distance of 6.6 metres in an easterly direction.
Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) – Disabled Persons Parking Place
· Church Road, Cheadle Hulme, north side, from a point 52 metres west of the westerly kerb line of Hill Top Avenue for a distance of 6.6 metres in an easterly direction.
Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) – Proposed Limited Waiting Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm for 1 Hour, No return within 1 Hour
· Church Road, Cheadle Hulme, south side, from a point 15 metres east of the easterly kerb line of Woods Lane for a distance of 54.5 metres in an easterly direction.
Proposed Puffin to Toucan Crossing Upgrade
· Church Road, Cheadle Hulme, approximately 35 metres west of the westerly kerb line of Woodfield Road.
The Bramhall & Cheadle Hulme South Area Committee supported the proposals, subject to amendments to the configuration of the Disabled Parking Place that had been accounted for in the proposal considered by the Cabinet Member.
