The Area Committee has approved a request from Stockport County Supporters Co-operative to hold its annual half-marathon on 2 September 2018 with a circular route being run from and back to Stockport County Football Club along the Trans Pennine Trail between Woolpack Bridge through Mersey Vale and on into Manchester, subject to the organiser obtaining appropriate papers, event plans, health and safety documentation, licences and/or insurances.
The application was approved by the Heatons and Reddish Area Committee at its meeting held on 29 January 2018.
