Issue - decisions

The Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing has approved a number of amendments to the Traffic Regulation Orders previously approved on December 2017 and February 2018 relating to the A555 Manchester Airport Eastern Link Road. These amendments have arisen following reviews of the final construction plans.  

The Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing has approved a range of measures associated with the A555 Manchester Airport Eastern Link Road, including:-

·           Speed Restrictions

·           Urban Clearway

·           Share Cycle/ Footway

·           Waiting Restrictions

·           Weight Restrictions

·           Prohibition of Driving except bus and cycles

·           Revocations

The details of the proposals are detailed in the appendices. Amended proposals were considered and approved by the Cabinet Member following the completion of further designs work at it has been decided that the speed limit of the section between the A34 and Wilmslow road be reduced from 70mph to 50mph on both sides for safety reasons (see addendum).

The Cabinet Member has therefore approved legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) contained in the report and subject to no objections received within 21 days from the advertising date, the orders can be made.

The Bramhall & Cheadle Hulme South; Cheadle; Marple and Stepping Hill Area Committees supported the original proposals.
