Use of Commuted Sums in the Marple Area Committee

26/08/2011 - Use of Commuted Sums in the Marple Area Committee area

The Area Committee have given approval to the use of the following commuted sums:-

 

  • Allocation in principal of a portion of the sum accrued from 22 Cross Lane for improvements at Cromwell Road, Marple (subject to further discussions with Ward Councillors and local residents) and improvements at Rose Lane Play Area, in conjunction with Moss Bank Homes (subject to further discussions with Ward Councillors and local residents)
  • Allocation of £334.62 accrued from 2 Ley Lane, Marple Bridge to the play area at Mill Brow
  • Allocation of £110.43 accrued from 8 Arkwright Road Marple to the play ground improvement project at Brabyns Park

 

The Area Committee also requested that the Service Director (Place Management):-

 

  • give further consideration to the use of commuted sums for improvements at Greenbank Crescent, including the possibility of the installation of goal posts;
  • liaise with Ward Councillors to discuss the future of the site at Cromwell Road, including possible support to establishing a Friends of Group, and
  • repaint the goal posts on the Green at Hawk Green.

24/06/2011 - Use of Commuted Sums in the Marple Area Committee

The Area Committee agreed the following:-

 

(1) That the use of commuted sums be approved at the locations identified:-

 

Brabyns Park - £4015.44

Moor End Road Mellor - £107.26

Marple Memorial Park - £1840.41

 

(2) That the Service Director (Communities) be requested to attend the next meeting of the Area Committee to contribute to the discussions in respect to the allocation of the remaining sums of £110.43, £22,188 and £334.62 and the possible allocation of money to alternative areas including Strines Road Rec and Carver Road.

 

(3) That the Service Director (Communities) be requested to consult with residents of Cromwell Avenue, Claremont Avenue and Marple Hall Drive as to how they would wish the £4,148.39 already allocated to be spent.
