The report sets out information regarding noise barrier proposals for Belmont Way and the associated consultation undertaken, and seek approval of the Executive Member (Communities and Housing) to plant a vegetation screen instead of the 2m high, close boarded timber fence barrier proposals consulted upon.
The Executive Councillor (Communities and Housing) is recommended to approve the planting of a vegetation screen on Belmont Way.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) regarding proposals for a noise barrier for Belmont Way as part of the Town Centre Access Plan. It had originally been proposed to implement a close boarded timber fence barrier which had been the subject of consultation, but it was now proposed to plant a vegetation screen instead.
RESOLVED - (1) That the Executive Councillor (Economy and Regeneration) be recommended to approve the planting of a vegetation screen on Belmont Way, Stockport, to be met by funding from the Town Centre Access Plan.
(2) That the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be requested to advise local residents of the proposed revision to the noise mitigation measures on Belmont Way, Stockport.
