To receive any announcements from the Chair about local community events or issues.

Councillors and members of the public are invited to raise ‘Neighbourhood Policing’ issues with the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Members of the public are invited to put questions to the Chair of the Area Committee on any matters within the powers and duties of the Area Committee, subject to the exclusions set out in the Code of Practice (Questions must be submitted prior to the commencement of the meeting on the cards provided. These are available the meeting.  You can also submit via the Council’s website at www.stockport.gov.uk/publicquestions.

To receive petitions from members of the public and community groups.

In accordance with the Code of Practice no organisation has indicated that they wished to address the Area Committee as part of the Open Forum arrangements.

To consider an application received from Fosbrook Folk Education Trust for Ward Flexibility Funding for a total grant of £1000 (£29 from Hazel Grove and £286 from Offerton) towards the cost of performing at Sidmouth Folk Festival in August and showcasing traditional music and dance local to the North West, and Stockport in particular.

To consider an application received from Odyssey Art Academy for Ward Flexibility Funding for a total grant of £960 (£50 from Hazel Grove and £40 Offerton ward allocations) towards the cost of hosting a series of acting workshops, culminating in a public performance, to empower individuals, particularly those from marginalised or vulnerable backgrounds.

To consider an application received from Heaton Mersey Village Cricket Club for Ward Flexibility Funding for a total grant of £945 (£45 from Hazel Grove, £45 from Norbury & Woodsmoor and £45 from Offerton allocations) towards the cost of hosting a family fun day open to the community. The club draws members from across the Stockport Borough.

No development applications were submitted.

To consider a report of the Assistant Director for Governance.

The report summarises recent appeal decisions; lists current planning appeals and dates for local enquiries; informal hearings for planning appeals, and enforcement action within the Stepping Hill Area Committee area.

The Area Committee is recommended to note the report.

To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

The report provides the Area Committee with an update relating to the ‘Free to Charged Parking’ project and notifies of the intention to create and implement an Off Street Parking Places Order as required.

To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

The report details the legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Orders detailed in Appendix A relating to the ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions at the junction of Argyle Street and Grundey Street in Hazel Grove.

The Area Committee is asked to comment on and recommends that the Cabinet Member (Parks, Highways and Transport Services) approves the legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Orders as detailed in Appendix A. and subject to no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date the orders can be made at a total cost of £950 to be funded from the delegated Ward Budget (Hazel Grove).

To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

The report relates to an application received from 4 Seasons Events Group to hold a Kids Adventure Kingdom Inflatable World & Children’s Rides Event at Torkington Park on 9th and 10th August 2025. This 2-day event is for children up to the age of 12 and will include inflatable attractions: a Helter Skelter, a Play Centre, and also more traditional rides and stalls: trampolines, bumper cars, a roundabout and Hook-a-duck stall. Hot food and drinks will be available. The event will be open from 11.30am until 5.30pm each day with access being required from Wednesday 6th to Tuesday 11th August 2025.

The Area Committee is asked to approve the event subject to the organiser producing the appropriate health & safety documentation; insurances being in place; and paying the fee.
