To consider a report of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal & Democratic Governance) and Monitoring Officer.

 

The report details an application received for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust, and asks that the Sub Committee consider the applicationin line with the charitable objectives of the Trust.

 

The Sub Committee are recommended to determine the applicationfor funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust.

A representative of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal and Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer) submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing an application received for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust, and recommended that the Sub Committee consider the application in line with the charitable objectives of the Trust.

Friends of Scholes Park, Gatley pdf icon PDF 400 KB

Minutes:

A representative of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal and Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer) submitted an application received on behalf of Friends of Scholes Park, Gatley (copies of which had been circulated) which sought to purchase and install a ‘happy to talk’ bench at Gatley Hill House to enable people to enjoy the area of green space in front of the house and improve mental health and wellbeing of local residents.

 

A representative of the applicant attended the meeting to speak to the application and respond to questions from the Sub Committee.

 

Members were aware of the growing popularity of the ‘happy to talk’ bench initiative in supporting local communities, and welcomed the application.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to an application from Friends of Scholes Park, Gatley, for a grant of £1,695 towards the purchase and installation of a ‘happy to talk’ bench at Gatley Hill House to enable people to enjoy the area of green space in front of the house, and improve mental health and wellbeing.
