Portfolio Performance and Resources - Mid-Year Reports 2021/22 pdf icon PDF 237 KB

To consider a joint report of the Corporate Directors (Place) and (Corporate & Support Services).

 

The Mid-Year Portfolio Performance and Resource Reports (PPRRs) for the Sustainable Stockport and Inclusive Neighbourhoods Portfolios are presented for consideration by the Committee. These provide a summary of progress in delivering the portfolio priorities, reform programmes and other key projects in the first half of the year, with a particular focus on the second quarter (July to September). These include forecast performance and financial data (where this is available) for the Portfolios, along with an update on the portfolio savings programmes.

 

The Scrutiny Committee is recommended to:

 

(i)         Consider the Mid-Year Portfolio Performance and Resource Reports; 

(ii)        Review the progress against delivering key projects, priority outcomes, targets and budgets for 2021/22;

(iii)       Highlight key areas of and responsibility for taking forward corrective action to address any performance or resource issues;

(iv)      Highlight any significant issues or changes to be fed back to the Cabinet alongside the Corporate Performance and Resource Report;

(v)       Identify how areas of strong performance and good practice can be shared in other services.

Climate Action Now – Annual Report & Immediate Actions pdf icon PDF 480 KB

This report outlines the progress made in line with the Climate Action Now (CAN) Strategy since its launch in 2020 and goes on to propose further plans to enhance   the Council’s approach to responding to the Climate Emergency.

 

The CAN Strategy encompasses all areas of Council operations and influence. There are many actions taking place across the Council but due to the nature of the Climate Emergency it is evident that more needs to be done, hence the need for further plans to enhance the CAN Strategy.

 

The Scrutiny Committee is recommended to note and comment on the progress achieved since the implementation of the CAN strategy across the borough.

Greater Manchester (GM) Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Accord Stockport Position pdf icon PDF 881 KB

This report provides an overview of the recently agreed the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Accord which was agreed at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) for further local consideration. This report considers Stockport’s progress against the accord commitments and makes a recommendation for local adoption of the commitments for a resilient and thriving Voluntary Community Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector.

 

The Scrutiny Committee is recommended to:

 

·         Note the updates on progress against the Accord commitments outlined in section 3 above.

·         Endorse the GM Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Accord and agree that this progresses to be adopted locally

·         Comment upon and support the Stockport approach to the implementation of the eight commitments set out in the VCSE Accord
