The report provides Members with the Annual Report to customers for approval.

The Executive Director of Resources submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) which provided Members with the Annual Report to customers for approval.

 

The following comments were made/issues raised:

 

·         Members appreciated the quality and length of the report.

·         Members asked whether the video could be circulated in local libraries?  In response, Members were advised that this would be done.

·         Could there be any discussion with the Council as part of a wider review?  Member Committee was advised that this was already being undertaken.

·         Members were keen that physical access to the report as well as digital access was possible.

 

RESOLVED – That the report be noted.

CUSTOMER VOICE & INFLUENCE STRATEGY 2020-23 ANNUAL UPDATE REPORT YEAR 2 pdf icon PDF 194 KB

The report provides Member Committee with an update on the progress of the Customer Voice and Influence (CV&I) Strategy at the end of year two of delivery 2021-2022.

 

Member Committee is requested to note and comment on the report.

The Director of Skylight & Customer Services submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) which provided Member Committee with an update on the progress of the Customer Voice and Influence (CV&I) Strategy at the end of year two of delivery 2021-2022.

 

The following comments were made/issues raised:

 

·         Members queried how far the targeted engagement for younger people had progressed? In response, the Committee was advised that work was being carried out via youth workers, and feedback from young people was being received about their neighbourhoods and particular needs.

·         Members praised the Bridge apartments for Care Leavers as a very positive initiative.

·         Members asked if there were any instances where there was no engagement at all despite best endeavours?  In response, Members were advised that where there were gaps, strenuous efforts would be made to reach those people perhaps through community and specialist groups.

 

RESOLVED – That the report be noted.

 

 

7.

SKylight - Year End Update

This is a verbal presentation by Anne-Marie Heil.

A representative of Stockport Homes gave a verbal presentation which provided Member Committee with a Year End update on Skylight.

 

The following comments were made/issues raised:

 

·         Members were pleased to see that there were new premises for the furniture recycling and mentioned that they would like to visit if possible.

·         In response to a Member question, the Committee was informed about rough sleepers and how they were found and supported.

The report outlines progress in delivering the Council’s homelessness strategy and consult on the revised action plan.

A representative of the Director of Skylight & Customer Services submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) which outlined progress in delivering the Council’s homelessness strategy and consultation on the revised action plan.

 

The following comments were made/issues raised:

 

·         A short discussion took place relating to the Homes for Ukrainians scheme. Members acknowledged that there was a great deal of pressure on the host families and not as much support for them as had been envisaged.  Financial pressures and challenges in the housing market were also adding to the difficulties.

The Chief Executive, Stockport Homes submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) which updated Members on issues not included in other reports but which are likely to be of interest.

 

The following comments were made/issues raised:

 

·         Members acknowledged that the cost of living crisis remained a significant situation as did rising inflation.

·         Members noted that Stockport Homes were working with the Council over budget pressures and joint cost of living pressures.

·         In addition, Members congratulated Stockport Homes on their recent nomination for a national award.
