Better Care Fund Monitoring Report Q1 2024/25 pdf icon PDF 155 KB

To consider a report of the Deputy Chief Executive (S151 Officer) Stockport and the Stockport Place Finance Lead (NHS GM)

 

The report presents the Better Care Fund (BCF) Q1 template, which was submitted to the national BCF Team within the submission deadline of the 29th August 2024 and provide an update on the overall financial performance of the BCF as at 30th June 2024 (Quarter 1).

 

The Board are recommended to: -

 

(i)              Approve the BCF 2024-25 Q1 Reporting Template submitted to the National BCF Team by 29 August 2024.

 

(ii)            Note the finance performance of the BCF as at 30th June 2024 (Quarter 1).

Children and Young People Plan 2024-27 pdf icon PDF 208 KB

To consider a report of the Director of Children’s Services.

 

The report is the refreshed Children and Young People Plan 2024-2027 that the Stockport Family Partnership Board have collaborated to develop. The Plan reflects the shared partnership priorities from our One Stockport Borough Plan, ‘One Stockport: One Future’ and the Greater Manchester shared priorities for children and young people; and is aligned with other key strategy documents including the Stockport Council Plan and the Stockport Safeguarding Children Partnership Plan. The plan also provides a focus on the children and families responsibilities set out in the Stockport One Health and Care Plan.

 

The Board is asked to comment on the refreshed strategy as part of the engagement programme and approve release for next stages of engagement, including One Health and Care Board and Children and Family Scrutiny Committee.

The report provides an overview of JSNA (Joint Strategic Needs Assessment) activity in 2023/24 and the proposed work plan for the Stockport JSNA for 2024/25.

 

The Board is asked to consider and comment on the proposals for the 2024/25 JSNA set out above and approve priorities for the work programme for the year.

To consider a report of the Director of Public Health.

 

The report draws attention to stark health inequalities in Stockport and outlines how social determinants of health play a role in driving and therefore addressing these inequalities. It presents the principle of addressing health inequalities by improving everyone’s health, but doing so according to people’s different levels of need: proportionately more support and resources are needed for those already disadvantaged or at higher risk / need.

 

The Board is asked to discuss how the report can be used to best effect to support the work to reduce health inequalities across the system.
