To approve as a correct record and sign the Minutes of the meeting held on 14 December 2011.

Minutes:

The Minutes (copies of which had been circulated) of the meeting held on 14 December 2011 were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

To report any urgent action taken under the Constitution since the last meeting of the Committee.

To consider a report of the Service Director (Place Development).                                   

 

(a)              To consider development applications where members of the public have attended the meeting in order to hear the Committee's deliberations.

 

(b)              To consider the remaining development applications.

 

NOTE: Councillors are requested to note that if they withdraw from the meeting during the consideration of a development application upon their return they should not participate any further in the deliberation or vote on that planning application.

Development applications were submitted.

The Corporate Director, Services to Place is authorised to determine conditions and reasons and they are not therefore referred to in committee minutes unless the committee makes a specific decision on a condition or reason. Proposed new Land Rover dealership including workshop, MOT facilities, showroom and associated offices.

 

The Committee is recommended to grant planning permission subject to conditions contained in the report and the signing of a S106 agreement.

 

Minutes:

In respect of plan no. 47423 for a proposed new Land Rover dealership including workshop, MOT facilities, showroom and associated offices at S Park Development, off Tiviot Way, Portwood, it was:-

 

RESOLVED – That the Service Director (Place Development) be authorised to determine the application, subject to the developer of the business park entering into a Section 38 Agreement with the Council in respect of the adoption of the access road and the applicant entering into a Section 106 Agreement in order to ensure that the scheme delivers training and employment opportunities to Brinnington and the wider area, and that the delivery of the scheme is tied to the wider redevelopment of the site.

Erection of 11 industrial and warehousing units (B1,B2, B8) with associated service areas, access roads, car parking and landscaping (Amendment to planning permission DC040181)

 

The Committee is recommended to grant planning permission subject to conditions contained in the report and the signing of a S106 agreement.

 

Minutes:

In respect of plan no. 48308 for the erection of 11 industrial and warehousing units (B1, B2, B8) with associated service areas, access roads, car parking and landscaping (amendment to planning permission DC040181) at the former Thomas Storey Site, Tiviot Way, Portwood,

 

a representative of the applicant spoke in support of the application.

 

It was then

 

RESOLVED – That the Service Director (Place Development) be authorised to determine the application, subject to the developer of the business park entering into a Section 38 Agreement with the Council in respect of the adoption of the access road and the applicant entering into a Section 106 Agreement in order to tie the development with that of the adjacent site which is proposed to be a car showroom, as well as delivering the training and employment initiatives plan.
