To approve as a correct record the minutes of the meeting held on 4 October 2023.

The minutes of the meeting held on 4 October 2023 (copies of which had been circulated) were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

Declarations of Interest

Councillors and Officers to declare any interests which they may have in any of the items on the agenda for the meeting.

No declarations of interest were made.

Public Questions

Members of the public are invited to put questions to the Chair and Members of the Committee on any of the matters within the powers and duties of the Committee subject to the exclusions set out in the Code of Practice. Questions must be submitted prior to the commencement of the meeting. These are available via the Council’s website at www.stockport.gov.uk/publicquestions.

Exclusion of the Public and the Public Interest Test

To consider whether it is in the public interest to exclude the public during consideration of Agenda Item 6 – ‘Appeal A661’ which contains information ‘not for publication’ by virtue of the categories set out in the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

 

Minutes:

RESOLVED – That the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of agenda item 5 ‘Appeal A661’ as exempt by virtue of Paragraphs 1 and 2, Schedule 12a of the Local Government Act 1972 as containing information relating to any individual and information which was likely to reveal the identity of an individual.

Appeal A661

To consider a grievance appeal from an employee of Children’s Services.

Minutes:

The Employment Appeals Committee considered a grievance appeal from an employee of Children’s Services.

 

RESOLVED – That having considered the grievance appeal, and having read all the documentation and listened carefully to all that was said by the appellant and management, the Committee agreed that the decision at the second stage of the grievance process be upheld and therefore that the grievance appeal be dismissed.
