To approve as a correct record the minutes of the meeting held on 28 October 2013.

The Minutes (copies of which had been circulated) of the meeting on 28 October 2013 were approved as a correct record.

Councillors and Officers to declare any interests which they have in any of the items on the agenda for the meeting.

No declarations of interest were made.

To consider a report of the Corporate Director for People.

A representative of the Corporate Director, Services to People submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) in relation to Admission Arrangements for 2015/16, proposals to expand existing infant/junior or primary schools and Stockport Local Authority School Terms and Holiday dates 2015/16.

The Forum discussed the proposal to consult on the introduction of an additional oversubscription criteria for secondary schools from September 2015 regarding children of staff that and the implications of the change. A member of the Forum queried how the criteria would be monitored.

The Forum also discussed the options for school terms and holiday dates at maintained primary and secondary schools in the Borough for the academic year 2014/15 and how these options sat within the AGMA ambition for a standardised school year.

RESOLVED – (1) That the report be noted;

(2) That should the oversubscription criteria for secondary schools be revised to include children of staff following the consultation exercise, the authority should ensure that arrangements are put in place to monitor the application of this criteria and require suitable evidence to be presented in each case; and

(3) That with regard to school term and holiday dates for 2015/16 the authority consult on Options A and B contained in the report.

The Forum is requested to agree a date for the next meeting.

RESOLVED – That the next meeting of the Forum be held on 26^th March 2014 at 4 pm.
