Minutes: A representative of the Corporate Director for Services to People and Chief executive submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) in relation to the allocation of places to maintained primary and secondary schools in September 2013 and the pattern of admissions to secondary schools after the normal admissions round during 2012/13 together with the number of appeals that had been lodged and heard. The Forum discussed the impact of the decision to use only on-line application in 2013. The lower level of uptake for nursery applications and need to focus on this group was noted. The Forum also discussed the outstanding decision awaited from the Schools Adjudicator relating to admission arrangements for Tithe Barn School and the action being taken to alleviate the pressure on primary places in the Heatons. RESOLVED – That the report be noted.
4.	Fair Access Protocol and Arrangements for Permanently Excluded Pupils Academic Year 2012-2013 PDF 81 KB To consider a report of the Corporate Director for People. Minutes: A representative of the Corporate Director for Services to People submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) which set out details of the Fair Access Protocol which was in place to ensure access to education is secured quickly for children who have no school place but for whom a mainstream school is important and the arrangements in place to ensure the provision of education for permanently excluded pupils. The report provided details of the administration of the Protocol; the principles used to guide the number of admissions to each school and the operation of the Protocol; and the number of pupils permanently excluded from school in 2012/13. RESOLVED – That the report be noted.
5.	Date of Next Meeting The Forum is requested to agree a date for the next meeting. Minutes: RESOLVED –That the next meeting of the Forum be held on 20^th November 2013 at 4pm.
