Finding child care information on the Stockport Council website To consider a verbal update from the Corporate Director for People. Minutes: A representative of the Corporate Director for People attended the meeting and made a presentation and demonstration in respect to how information relating to childcare is presented on the Council website. Councillors noted that residents were able to identify childcare providers in their local area by inputting their postcode and that there were links to enable them to view a child care providers latest Ofsted report.
RESOLVED - That the report and presentation be noted. |

Children's Centre Parents Offer PDF 32 KB To consider a report of the Corporate Director for People.
The report provides an update in relation to on going work to improve the quality of Children’s Centre support for parents in relation to parental wellbeing, skills and employment.
The Scrutiny Committee is requested to consider and comment on the report.

Minutes: A representative of the Corporate Director for People submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) providing the Committee with an update in relation to on-going work to improve the quality of Children’s Centre support for parents in relation to parental wellbeing, skills and employment. Officers outlined what actions had been taken to improve the way the Council supports parents to access training and employment opportunities following two recent Ofsted reports in the Marple and Bredbury areas. An action plan had been developed in response to the inspections and it was anticipated that any associated actions would be fully implemented by the end of April 2014.

School Organisation Proposals for Orrishmere and Queens Road Primary Schools PDF 87 KB To consider a report of the Corporate Director for People.
The report provides for consideration the outcomes of the consultation and requests the Scrutiny Committee to comment upon the proposals to publish statutory notices for the proposed expansion of Queens Road Primary School and the discontinuance of Orrishmere Primary School as part of the new building development to provide additional places for the area and address the existing building condition issues.
The Scrutiny Committee is requested to consider and comment on the report.
