Community NHS Leaders A statement has been provided by Patrick McGee, Head of Strategy and Planning (NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care), regarding a call for Community NHS Leaders -
‘The Neighbourhoods and Prevention Programme is recognised as the key unlocking piece of our locality strategy, the One Health and Care Plan. As our population grows and ages, more people are developing complex care needs and requiring support from multiple health and care services. Partners in Stockport recognise that people are more than just their health conditions or care needs. We will work together as ONE System through a new neighbourhood model that recognises wider factors such as education, housing, employment, environment, and social connectedness to put people at the heart of our services and tailor care to their individual needs by creating the conditions for individuals, communities, services and professionals to work together. Focusing on creating the conditions for good lives, empowering people to stay healthy and supporting people to return to health in their neighbourhoods.
Stockport’s Neighbourhoods and Prevention is a key programme as part of our new integrated arrangements between the NHS and local government. The programme reports in to Stockport Provider Partnership, is recognised as an accelerated priority of the Locality Board and is the key driver of the One Health and Care Plan. The first Neighbourhoods and Prevention Workshop took place 25/01/2023. It was a really positive, inspiring discussion that has informed our next steps. Attendance was good from a very wide range of organisations. It was felt though that we could perhaps work closer with community leaders in our various different neighbourhoods and work hard to go beyond just working as officers and public service partners.’
Members were encouraged to provide nominations to the Clerk if they thought that a local resident active in supporting the community would like to take part, or any Area Committee members themselves who would like to volunteer to influence this work for Stockport and for their own neighbourhood and community.
Further, a Coronation Party was expected to take place on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Outwood Road Recreation Ground and all were welcome to attend. Thanks were expressed to Bread & Butties for their support by providing food at the event, at no cost to anyone. |
