Progress on Area Committee Decisions PDF 175 KB To consider a report of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal & Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer)
The report provides an update on progress since the last meeting on decisions taken by the Area Committee and details the current position on ward flexibility funding. The report also includes the current position on the Area Committee’s delegated budget.

Chair's Announcements To receive any announcements from the Chair about local community events or issues. Additional documents: Minutes: The Chair announced that a Cheadle Victorian Market would be held on Cheadle Green on 4 December 2021 and that the Christmas Lights switch on in Gatley would be held on 5 December 2021. Tree planting to celebrate the Queen’s Green Canopy was being held at Gatley Hill on 4 December and there was a lantern parade at Scholes Field in Gatley also on 4 December.
It was further reported that a Christmas Concert was being held in Heald Green on 12 December 2021 and that there would a Christmas ‘Carols around the Trees’ at 7.00pm on Christmas Eve.
An event Carols on the Green was being organised by the shops on Councillor Lane on 19 December 2021 and the Church was holding a fund raising ball on 18 December 2021.
The Mayor advised that his Carol Service was being held at 12.30pm on 8 December 2021 at Stockport Parish Church, St. Mary’s in the Marketplace.

Neighbourhood Policing Councillors and members of the public are invited to raise ‘Neighbourhood Policing’ issues with the local Neighbourhood Policing Team. Additional documents: Minutes: Inspector Martin Baker attended the meeting to report on neighbourhood policing issues in the Cheadle area. He also reported on recent crime committed in the Cheadle area.

Ward Flexibility Funding - SEN Youth Club PDF 291 KB To consider an application for Ward Flexibility Funding from SEN Youth Club to set up a club for young people with Special Educational Needs/additional needs where they can meet on a regular basis. It is expected that most children will come from the Cheadle/Heald Green area. Additional documents: Minutes: A representative of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal & Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer) submitted an application on behalf of the SEN Youth Club to set up a club for young people with Special Educational Needs/additional needs where they can meet on a regular basis. It is expected that most children would come from the Cheadle/Heald Green area.
RESOLVED – That the application be referred to the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust for consideration and the applicant be requested to provide more detail, in particular confirmation that the club had the necessary policies and procedures in place.

Cheadle Towns Fund - Cheadle Railway Station and Cycling and Walking Consultation Results PDF 656 KB To consider a report of the Corporate Director (Place) and Deputy Chief Executive
The Area Committee is asked to comment on this report and give approval to the cycling and walking proposals and the legal advertising of the associated Traffic Regulation Orders relating to Local Distributor and Local Access Roads (contained in Appendix C).
The Area Committee is requested to recommend that the Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration gives approval for a planning application to be submitted for the Cheadle Station Proposal, and approval for the cycling and walking proposals for:-
Newland Road to Oak Road(including Queens Gardens); Oak Road to Brookfield Park; Brookfield Park to Shiers Drive; Shiers Drive to Bruntwood Lane;
and the legal advertising of the associated Traffic Regulation Orders relating to Strategic Highways and District Distributor Roads (contained in Appendix C) and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the Orders.
