To approve as a correct record and sign the Minutes of the meeting held on 1 December 2022.

The Minutes (copies of which had been circulated) of the meeting held on 1 December 2022 were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

No declarations of interest were made.

3.

Public Question Time

Members of the public are invited to put questions to the Chair and Executive Councillors on any matters within the powers and duties of the Executive, subject to the exclusions set out in the Code of Practice.  (Questions must be submitted no later than 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the meeting on the card provided.  These are available at the meeting. You can also submit via the Council’s website at www.stockport.gov.uk/publicquestions)

Exclusion of the Public and the Public Interest Test

To consider whether it is in the public to exclude the public during consideration of agenda item 6 – ‘Appointment of Director of Public Health’ which contains information “not for publication by virtue of Category 3 ‘Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority)’ as set out in the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Minutes:

RESOLVED – That in order to prevent the disclosure of information which was not for publication relating to an individual as defined in Category 1 of the Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), the disclosure of which would not be in the public interest, would not be fair and would be in breach of Data Protection principles, the public be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of Agenda Item 6 – ‘Appointment of Director of Public Health’.

Appointment of the Deputy Chief Executive as Deputy Electoral Registration Officer pdf icon PDF 28 KB

To consider a report of the Monitoring Officer.

 

The report details a proposal for the appointment of the Deputy Chief Executive as a further Deputy Electoral RegistrationOfficer.

 

The Committee is requested to recommend to the Council Meeting that Michael Cullen be appointed Deputy Electoral Registration Officer by virtue of Section 52(2) of The Representation of the People Act 1983.

Minutes:

The Assistant Director – Legal and Democratic Services (Monitoring Officer) submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a proposal for the appointment of the Deputy Chief Executive as a further Deputy Electoral Registration Officer.

 

RESOLVED – That the Council Meeting be recommended to give approval to the appointments of Michael Cullen as Deputy Electoral Registration Officer by virtue of Section 52(2) of The Representation of the People Act 1983.

The Committee interviewed three candidates for the post of Director of Public Health.

 

RESOLVED – That Jilla Burgess-Allen be appointed to the post of Director of Public Health.
