Exclusion of the Public and the Public Interest Test

To consider whether it is in the public interest to exclude the public during the consideration of agenda items 6 - 9 that are marked "not for publication" by virtue of the paragraph 1 of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), as they contain ‘information relating to an individual’

To report any urgent action taken under the Constitution since the last meeting of the Committee.

Members of the public are invited to put questions to the Chair and members of the Committee on any matters within the powers and duties of the Committee, subject to the exclusions set out in the Code of Practice. Request for a variation to the Hackney Carriage Tariff pdf icon PDF 152 KB

To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

 

The report informs the Committee of a request to increase the current Hackney Carriage tariff.

 

The report further informs the Committee of the intention to propose the compulsory acceptance of card payments in Hackney Carriage vehicles in addition to cash payments and to seek the committee’s views on this point.

 

The Committee are invited to provide comments on the proposed fare increase for Hackney Carriages and on the proposal to prepare a further report outlining the case to make credit card payments compulsory for taxi while maintain the ability to allow cash payments.
