Minutes: RESOLVED – That in order to prevent the disclosure of information which was not for publication, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of agenda items 7 & 8, relating to paragraph 1 (Information relating to any individual) and paragraph 2 (Information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual) of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Case number P1796 To consider a report of the Director for Place Management.
The report details the previous convictions of a new applicant for a Private Hire Driver’s licence.
The Committee is requested to consider whether the applicant is a fit and proper person to hold a Private Hire driver’s licence.

Minutes: A representative of the Director of Place Management submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) which informed the Committee of the convictions related to a new driver and requested the Committee to consider whether the driver was a fit and proper person to hold a Private Hire driver’s licence.
RESOLVED – That in the absence of the driver, this matter be adjourned until the next meeting of the Committee.

The report details the conduct of an existing Private Hire Driver
The Committee is requested to consider whether the applicant remains a fit and proper person to hold a Private Hire driver’s licence.

Minutes: A representative of the Director of Place Management submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) which informed the Committee of the conduct relating to an existing driver and requested the Committee to consider whether the driver remained a fit and proper person to continue to hold a Private Hire driver’s licence. The Committee interviewed the driver who was accompanied by 2 family members, in relation to these matters.
RESOLVED – That a written warning be placed on the drivers record.
