Urgent Decisions

To report that the Deputy Chief Executive has taken urgent action under the Constitution to give approval to an application received by the council from Friends of Hesketh Park and Mellor Green for the use of Hesketh Park for their annual Family Barbeque on the 24th September 2022 between the hours of 2.00pm – 6.00pm, setting up and closing down from 10.00am – 7.00pm, subject to all the appropriate paperwork and licences being obtained and submitted to the council at least one week prior to the event taking place.

 

The decision was taken as urgent action as to delay the taking of the decision would’ve provided insufficient notice for the organisers to obtain the necessary paperwork and licenses and as such, the ordinary approval process could not be followed.

To consider an application for Ward Flexibility Funding received from the Brazilian Festival Event for a grant of £900 (£300 from Bramhall North, £400 from Bramhall South & Woodford and £200 from Cheadle Hulme South wards allocation) towards the cost of running a Brazilian themed festival providing authentic Brazilian traders of food, drink, and crafts to the local community.

This report sets out the changes made to the proposed polling arrangements within the area following the feedback received during the Stage One consultation only. In the event any further proposals are received via the Stage Two consultation prior to the committee meeting, but after the publication of this report, then an update will be brought to the meeting.

 

The views of the Area Committee are sought on the proposed polling arrangements. Any comments or suggestions will then be considered together with those received via the Stage Two public consultation. A report containing the final proposals will be submitted to the CRMG Scrutiny Meeting on 11 October 2022, then the Cabinet Meeting on 1 November 2022 and the Council Meeting on 17 November 2022.

Road Safety Around Schools - Hursthead Infant & Junior School pdf icon PDF 345 KB

To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

 

The report details the findings of a consultation exercise for the Road Safety around Schools scheme around Hursthead Infant & Junior Schools and seeks approval for the introduction of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) and associated signage; implementation of dropped kerbs with tactile paving; new school warning signs; and for a contribution to be provided from the delegated ward budget.

 

The Area Committee is requested to recommend that the Cabinet Member for Highways, Parks and Leisure Services approves the legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation Orders set out in Appendix A, and as shown on Drawing 0305/62/HH/002, and subject to no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders to be mainly funded from the Road Safety Around Schools Programme Budget and  at a part contribution cost of £2,000 from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bramhall South & Woodford ward allocation).
