To consider a report of the Assistant Director – Legal & Democratic Governance.

 

The Scrutiny Committee is recommended to consider the remit of the scrutiny committees and the subsequent reporting arrangements in the light of the Cabinet Portfolios agreed by the Leader of the Council and as reported to the Annual Council Meeting on 23 May 2023.

The Assistant Director (Legal & Democratic Governance) submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) requesting that the Scrutiny Committee give consideration to the remit of the scrutiny committees and the subsequent reporting arrangements in the light of the Cabinet Portfolios agreed by the Leader of the Council and as reported to the Annual Council Meeting on 23 May 2023.

 

RESOLVED – (1) That the report be noted.

 

(2) That approval be given to the to the distribution of cabinet portfolios to scrutiny committees as detailed in the table at Section 2.7 of the report.

 

(3) That the Assistant Director (Legal & Democratic Governance) be requested to make arrangements for any necessary changes to the titles of scrutiny committees and consequential amendments to the constitution to reflect the realignment of cabinet portfolios to scrutiny committees.
