RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY – That Councillor Andrew Verdeille of 129 Somerford Road Reddish, Stockport be elected Mayor of this Borough for the period to the next Annual Council Meeting.

The Mayor informed the Council Meeting that the Civic Service would be held on Sunday, 7 June 2014 at 10.00 am at the St Elisabeth’s Church (Reddish) and that the sermon would be preached by the Bishop of Stockport.
The Mayor’s Charity
The Mayor further announced that the Mayor’s Charity would be raising funds for ‘Stockport Young Carers’ during his Mayoral Year.
Urgent Action Under the Constitution
The Mayor reported that the Chief Executive had, in consultation with the Past Mayor, taken urgent action under the Constitution on 1 May 2015 to appoint Maureen Sweeny as a member of the Stockport Independent Appeals Panel to facilitate the undertaking of school admission appeals during the following week. |

Whilst there had been assignment of responsibilities to each portfolio there may be a requirement to review during the year should the need arise.
