Chair's Announcements To receive any announcements from the Chair about local community events or issues. Minutes: The Chair reported that Inspector Tony Stiles (Greater Manchester Police) was now responsible for Marple, High Lane, Bredbury and Romiley. Under the new Local Policing restructure his dedicated Local Policing Team would focus on protecting vulnerable people, reducing crime and reducing anti-social behavior. Information from the public was vital to successful policing and she urged anyone who had any information that may assist in investigations to contact the team on 0161 856 9773, Non-Emergency Line, 101 or anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
The Chair drew attention to the launch of a petition to save the Bredbury and Marple Mail delivery offices. |

Public Realm The local Public Realm Inspector will attend the meeting to provide an update on matters raised at the last committee meetings. Councillors and Members of the public are invited to raise issues affecting local environmental quality. Medium Term Financial Plan Update
The report outlines the key considerations arising for the Council’s Medium Term Financial Plan and encourages the Area Committee and members of the public to comment on the key principles outlined within it.
Minutes: Medium Term Financial Plan
A representative of the Deputy Chief Executive submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) outlining the key considerations for the Council’s Medium Term Financial Plan and providing the opportunity for Councillors and members of the public to comment. A more detailed report would be submitted to the November Area Committee meeting.
Councillors expressed disappointment that a representative of the Executive or an officer had not attended the meeting to present the report and participate in the debate. A number of members of the public shared the views expressed by Councillors and added that in future any reports submitted should be written in plain English and where possible should not exceed more than two pages of information.
RESOLVED – That the report be noted and the concerns of the Area Committee and comments from the public be passed to the Deputy Chief Executive and members of the Executive. |

The report outlines a proposal for the making of a Modification Order under section 53(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 to upgrade parts of footpath 211 Marple and footpath 11 Marple to bridleway and add two unrecorded routes, around the disused quarry on Ludworth Moor to the definitive map and statement as bridleways.
