Public Question Time Members of the public are invited to put questions to the Chair of the Area Committee on any matters within the powers and duties of the Area Committee, subject to the exclusions set out in the Code of Practice (Questions must be submitted prior to the commencement of the meeting on the cards provided. These are available the meeting and at local libraries and information centres. You can also submit via the Council’s website at www.stockport.gov.uk/publicquestions. Minutes: Members of the public were invited to put questions to the Chair and members of the Area Committee on any matters within the powers and duties of the Area Committee, subject to the exclusions set out in the Code of Practice.
One question was asked concerning the secret garden at Torkington Park.
The Chair informed the questioner that he anticipated that following the conclusion of works currently being undertaken in the park, he fully expected the secret garden to be restored to its former state. Furthermore, he invited the questioner to attend a future meeting of the Area Committee to make a presentation on issues affecting Torkington Park.

Public Realm The local Public Realm Inspector will attend the meeting to provide an update on matters raised at the last committee meetings. Councillors and Members of the public are invited to raise issues affecting local environmental quality. Minutes: Adam Cunningham, Public Realm Service, attended the meeting to answer questions from Councillors and members of the public on highway and environmental quality issues within the area represented by the Stepping Hill Area Committee.
The following comments were made/issues raised:- · Resurfacing works on Dorchester Road. · Highway inspections on the dark blue routes would be carried out throughout April and May. · Operations carried out in conjunction with Greater Manchester Police in respect to scrap metal dealers. · Advice provided to residents in respect to refuse and recycling collections. · The flooding of a footpath in the vicinity of the Grapes Public House.

Area Flexibility Funding - Active Seniors Offerton PDF 103 KB To consider an application from the Active Seniors Offerton Group seeking funding toward the cost of room hire. Minutes: A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted an application on behalf of Active Seniors Offerton (copies of which had been circulated) requesting funding towards costs associated with the running of the group.
RESOLVED - (1) That the Democratic Services Manager be requested to make a grant of £360 to Active Seniors Offerton for funding towards costs associated with the running of the Group.
(2) That the Democratic Services Manager, in consultation with the Chair of the Area Committee, be authorised to provide additional funding to the Group should the Central Stockport Area Committee resolved not to make a contribution from their fund. |

Highway Maintenance and Local Initiatives - Ripley Avenue, Great Moor - Footway Scheme PDF 36 KB To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.
The report invites the Area Committee to consider a proposal to remove flags and concrete crossings and resurface with bitmac on Ripley Avenue, Great Moor.
The Area Committee is recommended to approve the scheme detailed in the report at a cost of £23,000.

Proposed Traffic Calming Measures, Lisburne Lane, Offerton PDF 74 KB To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.
The report summarises the outcome of the proposals to introduce traffic calming on Lisburne Lane in the form of road cushions and other associated measures. The proposals are associated with the development at the former Dialstone Centre and on Blackstone Fields, Offerton.
The Area Committee is recommended to approve the Proposals detailed in Schedule 1 of the report.

The report seeks approval for No Waiting restrictions on parts of Levens Road in Hazel Grove in order to alleviate problems associated with activity on the Newby Road Industrial Estate.
