To receive petitions from members of the public and community groups.

In accordance with the Code of Practice no organisation has indicated that they wished to address the Area Committee as part of the Open Forum arrangements.

To consider an application received from Civic Hall Indoor Bowling for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £600 towards the cost of a replacement short bowling mat.

To consider an application received from Hurricane Cheerleaders for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £1,000 towards the cost of hosting and insurance for a Community Family Fun Day and artisan market for the residents of the local community, the proceeds of which will go towards installing a sprung floor for the Hurricane Cheerleaders team.

To consider an application received from Sustainable Living Romiley for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £304.95 towards the cost of running a Green Week during February half term 2025 aiming to promote sustainable activities within the community and an appreciation of the local environment.

To consider an application received from Romiley Little Theatre for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £1,000 towards the cost of two LED stage lights.

There are no development applications to consider.

To consider a report of the Assistant Director for Legal & Democratic Governance.

The report summarises recent appeal decisions; lists current planning appeals and dates for local enquiries; informal hearings for planning appeals, and enforcement action within the Werneth Area Committee area.

The Area Committee is recommended to note the report.

To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

The report requests the Area Committee to consider whether to dedicate a Highway with public rights for pedestrians and cyclists over land it owns in Romiley, as shown marked A – D on the plan at Appendix 1 of the report. This route is considered a safe route to school for pedestrians and cyclists.

The Area Committee is recommended to authorise the dedication of the highway for pedestrians and cyclists over Points A – D, as shown on the plan at Appendix 1 of the report.

To consider a report of the Deputy Chief Executive.

The report provides an update on delivering Romiley District Centre Action Plan including recent successes and priorities for the next six months.

The Area Committee is recommended to:

(1)  Note the progress made in delivering projects and events.

(2)  Provide feedback on initial ideas for priority projects to allocate the £5,000 UKSPF which will be discussed with Romiley Vision Group.

The report provides an update on progress since the last meeting on decisions taken by the Area Committee and details the current position on area flexibility funding. The report also includes the current position on the highway and traffic management delegated budget.
