Members of the public are invited to put questions to the Chair of the Area Committee on any matters within the powers and duties of the Area Committee, subject to the exclusions set out in the Code of Practice (Questions must be submitted prior to the commencement of the meeting on the cards provided. Ward Flexibility Funding - Friends of Cheshire Theatre School pdf icon PDF 656 KB

To consider an application received from Friends of Cheshire Theatre School for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £900 (£270 from Heatons North, £360 from Heatons South and £270 from Reddish North ward allocations) towards the cost of registration fees for competitors from Heatons and Reddish Wards who have been selected to represent Team England in the Dance World Cup.

Ward Flexibility Funding - Be / Here MCR CIC pdf icon PDF 660 KB

To consider an application received from Be / Here MCR CIC for Ward Flexibility Funding for a total grant of £670 (£71 from Heatons North and £71 from Heatons South) towards the cost of equipment and promotion for mental health workshops for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.

Full planning permission for the demolition of existing structures, erection of a drive thru coffee shop (Class E), vehicle and cycle parking (including EV charging), landscaping and associated development.

 

The Area Committee is requested to grant planning permission subject to conditions and a S106 Agreement in relation to biodiversity.

Neighbourhoods and Prevention Programme Update – Stockport Live Well pdf icon PDF 893 KB

To consider a report of the Executive Director for People and Neighbourhoods.

 

The report provides the latest update on Stockport Live Well building on the report brought in September 2024 on the Neighbourhoods and Prevention Programme, specifically neighbourhood profiles and outlines the key areas of focus for the next 12 months, in particular an update on development of the Stockport neighbourhood model (including networks, meetings, coordination and leadership).

 

The Area Committee is asked to: -

 

(a)  Comment on and to note the report.

 

(b)  Provide local advice to the development of the networks in particular to suggest venues for future network meetings.

8.

CRSTS B5169 Broadstone Road/School Lane, Heaton Chapel – Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs), Traffic Calming & Toucan Crossing - Objection Report pdf icon PDF 355 KB

To consider a joint report of the Director for Place Management and Assistant Director for Governance.

 

The report advises committee members of the 11 objections received to the proposed Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) seeking to introduce Waiting restrictions, on Broadstone Road, the side streets and the Legal notices required for the introduction of Traffic calming features on Broadstone Road/ Nelstrop Road, Broadstone Road/Downham Road, and the Toucan crossing on Broadstone Road.

 

The Area Committee is asked to comment on the report and recommends that the Cabinet Member for Parks, Highways and Transport Services: -

 

(a)  approves the making of the amended Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) including the amendment to reduce the ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ on both sides of Nelstrop Road from 20 metres to 11.5 metres from the junction with B5169 and the removal of proposed 27 metre length of ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ waiting restrictions on the north side of Broadstone Road opposite the junction with Grange Avenue;

 

(b)  approves the first 15 metres of any side road connecting with the Key Route Network or any district distributor road) and for the pedestrian crossing and Traffic Calming Feature be constructed as advertised; and

 

(c)  that the objectors are informed of the decision.

The report provides an update on progress since the last meeting on decisions taken by the Area Committee and details the current position on area flexibility funding and ward discretionary budget funding (approved only). The report also includes the current position on the highway and traffic management delegated budget.
