Public Realm The local Public Realm Inspector will attend the meeting to provide an update on matters raised at the last committee meetings. Councillors and Members of the public are invited to raise issues affecting local environmental quality. Minutes: Janette Sadgrove (Public Realm Service) submitted a report (copies of which were circulated) providing an update on issues relating to public realm and enforcement matters in the Heatons and Reddish area.
The following comments were made/issues raised:- · The undertaking of carriageway resurfacing works on Heaton Moor Road at the junction of Green Lane, Moorside Road and part of Thornfield Road towards the junction with Balmoral Road. · The successful use of traffic regulation orders to aid street cleansing. · Carriageway resurfacing works on School Lane, Heaton Chapel would be undertaken in the evening.

Funding towards the promotion of fun activities in the park to encourage greater use by the public.
RESOLVED – That the Democratic Services Manager be requested to make a grant of £940.00 (Heatons South Ward) to the Friends of Crescent Park to support the promotion of fun activities in the park to encourage greater use by the public.
b) The Royal Oak Armed Forces Day
Funding towards the hire of a public address system and for advertising of the event.
RESOLVED – That the Democratic Services Manager be requested to make a grant of £180.00 (to be divided equally between the four wards) for funding towards the hire of a public address system and for advertising of the event.
c) Stockport Action for Voluntary Youth (SAVY)
Funding towards a scheme to teach young people how to ride, repair and maintain motorcycles safely and responsibly.
RESOLVED – (1) That the Democratic Services Manager be recommended to make a grant of £600.00 (to be divided equally between the Reddish North and South wards) to Stockport Action for Voluntary Youth to support a scheme to teach young people how to ride, repair and maintain motorcycles safely and responsibly.
(2) That the representatives of Stockport Action for Voluntary Youth be invited to attend a future meeting of the Area Committee to report on the outcomes for the scheme.
d) Forward Together
Funding towards supporting a weekly drop in session for women at risk of domestic abuse and the children of those women.
RESOLVED – That the Democratic Services Manager be recommended to make a grant of £200.00 (to be divided equally between the four wards) for funding to support a weekly drop in session for women at risk of domestic abuse and the children of those women.
