To consider a report of the Director of Development & Regeneration.

 

The report provides an update on delivering Reddish District Centre Action Plan including recent successes and priorities for the next 6 months.

a)    Note the progress made in delivering projects and events.

b)    Provide feedback on initial ideas for priority projects to allocate the £5,000 UKSPF which will be discussed with Reddish Vision Group.

To consider an application for Ward Flexibility Funding received from DOSportUK for a grant of £400 from the Heatons South ward allocation only towards the cost of Stockport Jets Basketball sessions aimed at people with a learning disability and/or autism, but also open to all ages and abilities.

To consider a report of the Deputy Chief Executive.

 

The report announces the intention to hold the Annual Review of Outcomes on Friday, 4 October 2024 and requests the Area Committee to submit its recommendations for a completed development site within its area to be included on the list of sites to be inspected by the Tour delegates. In addition the Area Committee is asked to provide nominations for delegates to attend.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to:

 

(a)            Nominate a completed development site to be included on the list of sites to be inspected on the 2024 Annual Review Tour.

 

(b)            Nominate Members to attend the Annual Review Tour on 4 October 2024.

8.

City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements – A6 Corridor Improving Journeys pdf icon PDF 1 MB

To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

 

This report provides the results of a consultation process on the CRSTS A6 Corridor: Improving Journeys, including proposals for improving bus journeys and active travel for the A6 corridor, from the border with Manchester to Stockport Town Centre. The scheme aims to increase the number of people travelling by bus, improve bus journey time, the reliability of frequent services, and increase the number of people travelling using active travel. It includes measures to improve road safety, reduce bus journey times, improve crossings for pedestrians and cyclists, and cycle routes parallel and across the A6 to make walking, wheeling and cycling easier.

 

The Area Committee is asked to consider the contents of the report, noting the results of the recent consultation exercise carried out with residents and businesses in the surrounding area of the proposals, and recommends that the Cabinet Member (Cabinet Member for Parks, Highways & Transport Services) approves the proposed measures.
