RESOLVED – That Councillor Tom Morrison be elected Chair of the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust Sub Committee for the period until the next Annual Council Meeting.

Applications for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust pdf icon PDF 144 KB

To consider a report of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal and Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer).

 

The report details a number of applications received for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust, and asks that the Sub Committee consider the applications in line with the charitable objectives of the Trust.

1.    The Sub Committee is recommended to note the amendments to the guidelines for the distribution of the Trust by the Cheadle Area Committee at their meeting 21 June 2022.

2.    The Sub Committee is requested to determine the applications which have been received for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust.

Minutes:

A representative of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal and Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer) submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a number of applications received for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust, and recommended that the Sub Committee consider the applications in line with the charitable objectives of the Trust.

Minutes:

A representative of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal and Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer) submitted an application received on behalf of Cheadle Civic Society (copies of which had been circulated) which sought to install a ‘talking’ seat at the bus stop outside Whitegates retirement homes in honour of a deceased resident.

 

The applicant attended the meeting to speak to their application and respond to questions from the Sub Committee.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to an application from Cheadle Civic Society for a grant of £1,500 from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust towards the cost of towards the purchase and installation of a ‘talking’ seat at the bus stop outside Whitegates retirement homes in honour of a deceased resident.

Friends of East Avenue Park pdf icon PDF 746 KB

Minutes:

A representative of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal and Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer) submitted an application received on behalf of Friends of East Avenue Park (copies of which had been circulated) which sought to enhance the community facility, East Avenue Park, by installing a bucket swing.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to an application from Friends of East Avenue Park for a grant of £3,300 from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust towards the cost of a bucket swing for East Avenue Park.
