Applications for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust PDF 141 KB To consider a report of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal and Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer).
The report details a number of applications received for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust, and asks that the Sub Committee consider the applications in line with the charitable objectives of the Trust.
The Sub Committee are recommended to determine the applications for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust.

Additional documents: Minutes: A representative of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal and Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer) submitted an application received on behalf of Café Unity (copies of which had been circulated) which sought to tackle loneliness in children by enhancing the café through a remodelling of the upstairs meeting room to create a multi-purpose space for the use of the community.
The applicant attended the meeting to speak to their application and respond to questions from the Sub Committee.
Members welcomed the application and suggested that the applicant look into how the project could also support the development of young people attending the café.
RESOLVED - That approval be given to an application from Café Unity for a grant of £3,000 from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust towards the cost of enhancing the café through a remodelling of the upstairs meeting room to create a multi-purpose space for the use of the community. |

The applicant attended the meeting to speak to their application and respond to questions from the Sub Committee.
Members welcomed the application and requested that an update be provided to members of the Cheadle Area Committee in six months on how the project was progressing.
RESOLVED - That approval be given to an application from Sen{d} Youth Group for a grant of £2,000 from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust towards the cost of setting up a youth group for children with additional needs. |

Cheadle Civic Society PDF 339 KB Minutes: A representative of the Strategic Head of Service (Legal and Democratic Governance and Monitoring Officer) submitted an application received on behalf of Cheadle Civic Society (copies of which had been circulated) towards the cost of purchasing of equipment, park fees, and booking of entertainment for the 2022 Picnic in the Park event.
Members noted that a similar event held pre-pandemic was well attended and was a success.
RESOLVED - That approval be given to an application from Cheadle Civic Society for a grant of £2,000 from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust towards the cost of purchasing of equipment, park fees, and booking of entertainment for the 2022 Picnic in the Park event. |
