Children and Young People's Plan pdf icon PDF 1 MB

This Workshop Session is being held to further develop the attached draft Children and Young People’s Plan.

Minutes:

Children and Young People’s Plan- feedback from the Stockport Family Partnership Board Development Session.

A powerpoint presentation was shared with the Board to give context for the Children and Young People’s Plan in terms of how it links and relates to wider partnership ambition and how the content has been developed.

An inclusive exercise then took place to engage board members in sharing their thoughts on the plan in terms of:

·         What is positive about the plan – have we got it right?

·         What risks, challenges, questions are still outstanding and

·         What are the opportunities and what do we as a partnership need to do to achieve these goals?

The plan was welcomed and positively received.  Board members commented on the clarity of the plan, of having a tangible vision and the opportunity to collaborate around the plan. The enablers were identified as being very helpful, along with the focus on restorative and on the transition to adulthood. It was also agreed that the plan would enable further ownership and commitment from partners in support improved outcomes for children and families and to support even more enhanced integrated working.

The challenges acknowledged were around ensuring a culture of collaboration and co-production along with aligning the partnership around the delivery of the plan to ensure a holistic approach. The issue of Stockport being a polarised borough which has led to increased inequalities for children, young people and their families was also raised.

Feedback from this session will be incorporated in to the plan and the final plan will be presented to the next Stockport Family Partnership Board for sign off.
