To consider a report of the Deputy Chief Executive (and Section 151 Officer).

The aim of this report (Appendix 5) is to communicate to all stakeholders the key and recurring issues, risks and subsequent recommendations made from the  internal audits of schools undertaken in 2021/22. 

The Committee is recommended to note the report.

A representative of the Deputy Chief Executive (and Section 151 Officer) submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) which aimed to communicate to all stakeholders the key and recurring issues, risks and subsequent recommendations made from the internal audits of schools undertaken in 2021/22. 

The following comments were made/issues raised:

·         Members commented that the report unearthed systemic trends that were taking place within schools.  The report enabled schools to get on board with good practice as soon as possible.

·         Following a Member question, the Committee was advised that schools were aware that they could contact the audit team at any time for answers to queries and advice.

RESOLVED – That the report be noted.
