To  consider a report of the Corporate Director (Place) and Deputy Chief Executive.

 

This report is to update the Committee on the progress of the Heatons Active Neighbourhood scheme and to seek approval to retain some of the Heatons Active Neighbourhood measures on a temporary basis whilst further consultation and approval processes are undertaken.

 

The Area Committee is requested to recommend that the Cabinet Member (Economy and Regeneration) approves the recommendation to retain some of the Heatons Active Neighbourhood measures on a temporary basis whilst further consultation and approval processes are undertaken.

A representative of the Corporate Director (Place) and Deputy Chief Executive submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) providing an update on the progress of the Heatons Active Neighbourhood scheme and to seek approval to retain some of the Heatons Active Neighbourhood measures on a temporary basis whilst further consultation and approval processes are undertaken.

 

The following comments were made/issues raised: -

 

·         The Committee welcomed the report and were happy with the discussions around Ash Grove and have to date received positive feedback from local residents.

·         It was commented that the trial has been well received in the community and welcomed the temporary extension to the 20mph speed limit and the one-way system.

·         It was noted that some local residents were of the view that their concerns were not being listened to, but from the report and comments it is clear that those comments were listened to and acted upon.

·         Propose to keep elements of the trial in Broadstone Road North.

 

RESOLVED - That the Cabinet Member (Economy and Regeneration) be recommended to approve the recommendation to retain some of

the Heatons Active Neighbourhood measures as detailed within paragraphs 4.1 – 4.7 of the report on a temporary basis whilst further consultation and approval processes are undertaken.
