To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration

 

The report sets out the results of an investigation into parked vehicles hindering visibility and safety for other road users on Thornton Road at the junction with Finney Lane and recommends approving No Waiting restrictions and providing dropped kerb crossings for pedestrians at this junction and the adjacent junction at West Avenue.

 

The Area Committee is requested to recommend the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport to approve:-

 

·         the statutory legal advertising of the No Waiting At Any Time Traffic Regulation Order detailed in the report and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Order be made.

·         the construction of dropped-kerb crossings for pedestrians on Finney Lane at the junctions with Thornton Road and West avenue.

A representative of the Deputy Chief Executive submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) setting out the results of an investigation into parked vehicles hindering visibility and safety for other road users on Thornton Road, Heald Green at the junction with Finney Lane and recommending the approval of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions and the provision of dropped kerb crossings for pedestrians at this junction and the adjacent junction at West Avenue.

 

RESOLVED – That the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport be recommended to approve the No Waiting at Any Time Traffic Regulation Order on Finney Lane, Thornton Road and West Avenue, Heald Green at an approximate cost of £860 to funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Cheadle Hulme North Ward allocation) if the No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on Thornton Road, as detailed in the report, can be extended a further ten metres along the road.
