To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

 

The report details a proposal for the introduction of a “No Waiting At Any Time” Traffic Regulation Order on Highfield Avenue, Bredbury following concerns raised by residents and motorists, regarding inconsiderate parking at the junction of Highfield Avenue and Harrytown. Observations confirmed motor vehicles parking on Highfield Avenue too close to the junction, causing reduced visibility and safety concerns for motorists’ trying to negotiate the junction.

 

The Area Committee is requested to recommend that the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport gives approves the legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation Order and subject to the receipt of no objections within 21 days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders, at a cost of £760 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bredbury Green & Romiley ward allocation):-

 

Proposed “No Waiting At Any Time”

 

Harrytown (West side) - From a point 7 metres south of the southern kerb line of Highfield Avenue, for a distance of 28 metres in a northerly direction.

 

Highfield Avenue (both sides) - From the intersection of the western kerb line of Harrytown, for a distance of 19 metres in a westerly direction.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a proposal for the introduction of a ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ Traffic Regulation Order on Highfield Avenue, Bredbury following concerns raised by residents and motorists, regarding inconsiderate parking at the junction of Highfield Avenue and Harrytown.  The report stated that observations by officers had confirmed motor vehicles parking on Highfield Avenue too close to the junction, causing reduced visibility and safety concerns for motorists’ trying to negotiate the junction.

 

RESOLVED – That the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport be recommended to give approval to the legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation Order and, subject to the receipt of no objections within 21 days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders, at a cost of £760 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bredbury Green & Romiley ward allocation):-
