To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration.

The report sets out the findings of a consultation exercise for Road Safety Around Schools – Norris Bank Primary School and to seek approval for the introduction of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) for 20mph speed limits and give way markings as detailed in this report.

The Area Committee is recommended to give approval to the legal advertising of the package of traffic regulation orders contained within the report and, subject to the receipt of no objections within 21 days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders at a cost of £4,650 to be funded from the Road Safety around Schools budget.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing the findings of a consultation exercise for Road Safety around Schools – Norris Bank Primary School and to seek approval for the introduction of Traffic Regulation Orders, for 20mph speed limits and give way markings on Norris Hill Drive; Winchester Drive; Blandford Road; Ridgemont Avenue; The Square; and The Green, Heaton Norris.

The Area Committee has previously considered and given approval to a proposed 20mph spped limit covering the entire lengths of Wittenbury Road, Marlcroft Avenue and Mossfield Close at its meeting on 23 September 2019 and has been included in the Traffic Regulation Order Schedule for this proposal for the purposes of statutory advertising.

RESOLVED - That approval be given to the proposals for Road Safety around Schools in the vicinity of Abingdon Primary School as detailed in Section 3 of the report and to the legal advertising of the following package of traffic regulation orders and, subject to the receipt of no objections within 21 days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders at a cost of £4,650 to be funded from the Road Safety around Schools Programme: -
