To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

The report sets out proposals to to develop vacant land between Beech Avenue and Queen's Road, Hazel Grove as an extension to the current Beech Avenue car park. It is anticipated that this would address issues of parking pressures and unmanaged land, and improves walking and cycling access to local health and library services.

The Area Committee is invited to comment on the proposals and recommend to the Portfolio Holder to approve the scheme.

A representative of the Deputy Chief Executive submitted report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) inviting the Area Committee to consider proposals to develop vacant land between Beech Avenue and Queen's Road, Hazel Grove as an extension to the current Beech Avenue car park. It was anticipated that this would address issues of parking pressures and unmanaged land, and improve walking and cycling access to local health and library services.

RESOLVED – That the Area Committee supports the proposals and recommends to the appropriate cabinet members that they approve the scheme.
