The Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing (Councillor Sheila Bailey) submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) presenting the findings of the review of the Stockport Council Gambling Policy, consequential actions resulting from that and providing a proposed final policy for approval.

 

RESOLVED -  That the revised Gambling Policy, as detailed in the report, be approved and adopted for the next three year period with effect from 31 January 2019.

To consider a report of the Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing.

 

The report provides Cabinet with the findings of the review of the Stockport Council Gambling Policy – Statement of Licensing Principles 2019 – 2022 and asks for final comments before being put before the Council Meeting on 29 November 2018. The consultation took place from 15 August 2018 – 10 October 2018 and the report will present the consultation responses, provide recommended actions and a proposed final version that both Legal Services and the Gambling Commission are satisfied that the response to the consultation results is sufficiently robust to withstand challenge.

 

The Cabinet is invited to recommend to the Council Meeting that the Gambling Policy as set out in the report be adopted for the next three years.

The Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) inviting the Cabinet to consider the outcome of a consultation on a new Gambling Policy – Statement of Licensing Principles for 2019 – 2022, the previous Policy having been reviewed in accordance with the requirements of the Gambling Act 2005.

 

RESOLVED – That the Council Meeting be recommended to adopt the Gambling Policy – Statement of Licensing Principles for 2019 – 2022 to cover the next three year period.

The Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) providing an update on the review of the Stockport Council Gambling Policy – Statement of Licensing Principles. The Corporate Director report that the policy had also been considered by the Licensing, Environment and Safety Committee and that it would be submitted to the next meeting of the Cabinet for approval.

 

RESOLVED – That the report be noted.
