To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration

The report sets out a request from the Heald Green Ward Spokesperson to purchase and manage a SID to be used exclusively in that ward. This report also sets out the costs of purchasing and managing the upkeep of this additional sign.

The Area Committee is requested to decide what action they wish to take with regard to the purchase, erection and management of a Speed Indication Device sign for the exclusive use within the Heald Green Ward.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) setting out a request from the Heald Green Ward Spokesperson to purchase and manage a mobile Speed Indication Device to be used exclusively in that ward. The report also set out the costs of purchasing and managing the upkeep of this additional sign.

 RESOLVED – (1) That approval be given to the principle of the purchase and the subsequent installation and maintenance of a mobile speed sign for use within the Heald Green Ward, but that the number of different locations and frequency where it will be sited and therefore the recurring annual costs, be delegated to the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration, in consultation with the Heald Green Ward Councillors.

(2) That the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be requested to provide a timetable for the use of the Mobile Speed Indication Devices in the Cheadle area.
