A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a proposal for the erection of posts on the roundabout and verge at the junction of Central Drive and Marsden Road, Romiley.
It was reported that this item had previously been considered by the Area Committee at its meeting on 5 March 2018 at which it was agreed to defer the item pending further investigations into alternative measures that could be implemented at this location from a traffic services perspective as a means of mitigating against the damage being caused to the verge and roundabout at Central Drive and Marsden Road, Romiley.
Advice had since been received from Traffic Services that alternative proposals at this location would be prohibitively expensive, and accordingly the original proposal has been resubmitted for consideration.
RESOLVED - That approval be given to the provision of five wooden posts including mowing strip and edging on the roundabout and verge to protect the grass on Central Drive at the junction of Marsden Road at an approximate cost £1,236.11 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bredbury Green & Romiley ward allocation).
