To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

 

The report details an application from The Light Cinema Holdings Ltd for the classification of a film for public exhibition in Stockport.

 

The Sub-Committee is recommended to consider an application from The Light Cinema Holding Ltd to classify the film that has not been classified by the BBFC.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing an application submitted by Mr Damian Drabble on behalf of The Light Cinema Holdings Ltd for the classification of an unnamed film which was proposed to exhibited to the public at The Light Cinema, Redrock, Bridgefield Street, Stockport from 26 February 2018.

 

It was reported that the film as originally submitted to the Licensing Authority included two uses of ‘bad language’ which had subsequently been removed from the final version of the film submitted for classification.

 

The Sub-Committee viewed the film as part of its consideration of the application.

 

The Sub-Committee then proceeded to consider the protection of children from harm licensing objective in respect of the application together with the relevant parts of the Council’s Licensing Policy and the BBFC Classification Guidance.

RESOLVED – That the unnamed film submitted for classification by Mr Damian Drabble on behalf of The Light Cinema Holdings Ltd be awarded a PG rating for public exhibition at The Light Cinema, Redrock, Bridgefield Street, Stockport.
